Market Report June 18

It’s another rainy summer day. The market goes on rain or shine. Produce has been harvested and is ready to bring to market today. The amount of work our producers go to in order to bring us just picked, local tasty food is incredible. Please come out today and each week during the season and support our community market.

Today the market will be inside the park administrative building with some produce vendors perhaps setting up in tents just outside the building.

We are fortunate to have local produce vendors with green houses and hoop houses. We have a new produce vendor joining us today; Corn Creek Greenhouses. Along with Corn Creek bringing green house and garden tomatoes; they will have Swiss chard, turnips, yellow crookneck squash and a variety of potted herbs and plants (including strawberry plants).

Rhonda with Cadet Creek will be at the market today. She also has green house tomatoes along with potatoes, squash, cucumbers, beets, green beans, onions and more.

Lisa with Eilerman Bros Farms and Orchards will have her homemade pies and turnovers as well as black raspberries, peaches, blueberries, peppers and zucchini

Another new vendor today is Ian with Stellar Sweets. Ian will be bringing homemade cookies, chocolate caramel oat bars, gourmet rice krispie treats, cake batter balls, apple crisps in mason jars, and pineapple upside down cake in mason jars.

Noble Canine Dog Treats will also be attending the market today.

Jason Burton of Forest Ray Mushrooms and Naturals will have fresh cut wildflowers, black duck eggs, fresh chanterelles, black trumpets and dried morel mushrooms.

We should have some samples of locally roasted Koupps Koffee cold brew today

Other vendors are pending. Please stop by and support the rainy day market.

Next week summer produce will really start rolling in. We will also have new vendors, Rob Uyemura Local Chef STL (formerly of YaYa’s)  and Mick Dickus of The Bent Pig preparing and serving fresh local dishes, sandwiches, salads, sausages and sides; all created with local, seasonal ingredients.
