We are asking all attendees to bring non-perishable foods (no glass containers). Suggestions include: bread, oatmeal, peanut butter, jelly, tuna, canned meat, soups, stew, macaroni and cheese, pasta, spaghetti sauce, fresh fruit, applesauce. Gift cards to purchase these items are also appreciated.
The Ellisville Community Farmers Market championed this project last year. The market donated over 1000 pounds of food for the program. In addition, the market worked with the West St. Louis County Rotary to include the Got Your Backpack program as part of their CAP grant which provided the Got Your Backpack program with over $2000 in food after the market season ended.
